Scientists and technicians are playing a leading role in different economic sectors.
According to information gathered by a department of the State Commission of Science and Technology, more than 20 shock brigades of scientists and technicians are making achievements this year, too, in different sectors of the national economy.
Those dispatched to the non-permanent central committee for promoting the Regional Development 20×10 Policy are focusing on the normal production and sufficient supply of raw materials with an emphasis put on raising the rate of domestic production of the facilities to be installed at regional-industry factories.
They work to develop scores of kinds of facilities including those for the production of bread and candy so as to raise the rate of their domestic production.
To ensure the normal operation of the running regional-industry factories, different research institutes are working to address the problems of sugar, essential oil and pigments.
Scientists from research and educational institutions have helped the State Hydro-meteorological Administration settle an array of sci-tech problems arising in putting weather forecast on a modern and scientific basis by developing numerical weather forecasting system and various AI-based integrated forecasting systems. Already-developed upper air radar and sonde are in normal operation for weather forecast as efforts are being made to lay material and technological foundations for establishing a comprehensive and three-dimensional forecasting system.
The shock brigade sent to the Kim Chaek Iron and Steel Complex has introduced to large oxygen plants a device that analyzes the concentration of oxygen and nitrogen in real time, thereby providing a scientific guarantee for ensuring scientific accuracy of oxygen production and improving the purity of oxygen.
They made and introduced an adhesive for the production of refractory bricks to be used for steel ladle, and solved problems arising in boosting the daily pig iron output.
Those dispatched to the Ministry of Public Health have wrapped up several tasks ahead of schedule. They have developed a high-performance rapid nucleic acid tester in an original way and made a tangible progress in the domestic production of a device for cultivating animal cells.
Another shock brigade has informatized the survey and design for tideland reclamation and achieved new progress in over 10 projects including those concerning the drawing of the submarine relief chart in the tideland area.
