It has been 75 years since the US imperialists launched a war against the DPRK. Despite lapse of time and replacement of generations, the Korean people still remember the horrific war atrocities committed by the US forces during the war and give voice to their vehement condemnation.
Echo of Wrath and Hatred
During the war (1950-1953), the US soldiers massacred local people at random, levelled cities and rural villages and had no scruples about using biological and chemical weapons. In particular, massacres of innocent people are still vivid in the minds of Koreans.
Those atrocities were beyond imagination. US soldiers gouged out people’s eye balls, cut off their hearts, beheaded them with fodder-cuter, ripped their limbs apart, drove spikes into their heads and sawed through their body parts. They even ripped open the belly of a pregnant woman to take out the embryo and throw it onto the ground, and tore breasts off women. Another woman was gang-raped to death with a post thrust into her privates. And they even pulled little children away from their mothers into custody and poured gasoline on them instead of water and milk before setting fire to them.
In such a way they killed as many as 35 300 innocent civilians in Sinchon County, South Hwanghae Province alone, the figure equivalent to a quarter of the county population.
Besides, some 1 231 540 civilians fell victim to their brutal bombing and bombardment.
“In the regions temporarily occupied by US forces, hundreds of thousands of peaceful civilians with their family members, old and young, were tortured, burnt, beat to death or buried alive. … Such massacres and mass tortures are more horrific than what Hitler’s Nazis had committed in their temporarily occupied regions in Europe,” said the Investigation Commission of the International Democratic Women’s Federation in a report worked out after a field survey.
At that time a foreign media outlet said that “the worst atrocities in the 20th century were committed by the US forces in Korea.”
Deep-rooted rancour and hatred are hard to fade away.
The Korean people already declared that if the US and its lackeys dare to start another war, they will deal a deadly blow to the aggressors to settle the old scores with them.
