Recently, a Chinese public security bureau issued warrants and rewards for arresting three U.S. agents. The spokesperson for the Chinese Foreign Ministry commented on this:
At the ninth Asian Winter Games, the U.S. government conducted cyberattacks on the information systems of the Games and the critical information infrastructure in Heilongjiang; this move is egregious for it severely endangers the security of China's critical information infrastructure, national defense, finance, society and production as well as its citizens’ personal information, the spokesperson said.
China raised concerns with the U.S. through various means about its cyberattacks on China's key infrastructure, he continued.
He concluded by strongly urging the U.S. to take a responsible attitude on the cybersecurity issue, and stop any attack, including cyberattack, and groundless vilification against China.
Meanwhile, regarding the 2025 Annual Threat Assessment released by the U.S. Office of the Director of National Intelligence that claims China as the biggest military and cyber threat for the U.S., the press spokesperson for China's Ministry of National Defense said that it is the U.S. side that has a poor track record on cyber issues, the “empire of hacking” that would stop at nothing to conduct surveillance, steal secrets and attack others much to the consternation of the world.
