Among the labour innovatorsand meritoriouspersonsin various fields who had a photo taken with Kim Jong Un, General Secretary of the Workers’ Party of Korea,before the office building of the headquarters of the PartyCentral Committee on the occasion of the New Year 2025 were women footballers of the newgeneration.
When the General Secretary,with a bright smile on his face, came towards the players and coaches who haddemonstrated the honour of the country, they gave vent to their yearning andemotion.
“We’ve been longing to meet you, fatherlyMarshal,” the players and coaches exclaimed, rushing into and clinging to hisarms.
After the meeting, Jon IlChong, who was awarded the Golden Ball, the award for the best player of the 2024FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup, recalled that the fatherly Marshal had held herhand tight and that she still felt as if she were in a dream.
“At the moment of great happiness and glory Ihad longed for, I was at a loss for words with tears in my eyes. I could nothelp but shed copious tears,” she said.
Theother sportspersons really shared the samefeeling.
The profound and boundless loveof the General Secretary for the new generation of sportspeople never fades ashe wishes that the talent and hope of each of them growing on this land would serveas a precious light demonstrating the dignity and honour of the country.
All the DPRK people are extendingwarm blessings to the women footballers, hoping they would further demonstratethe immortal dignity and honour of the great powerful country to the world withmore gold medals.
