The Korean Central News Agency Sunday released a report on the fact that the flood-hit areas of North Phyongan, Jagang and Ryanggang provinces have turned into ideal socialist villages.

According to the report, more than 15 000 modern multi- and single-storeyed dwelling houses, nurseries, kindergartens, schools, hospitals, clinics, etc. were newly built, more than 6 000 dwelling houses repaired and the Amnok River embankment project, river improvement and railway, road and bridge rehabilitation were pushed forward in a little more than four months to spruce up the appearance of northwestern part of the country and, thereby, miracles were wrought in the history of construction.

The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un energetically led the whole course of the rehabilitation project, with his extraordinary readiness and steadfast will that it is the Party that the people who suffered disaster will trust and rely on most, and he can never forsake their expectation and trust like his life at any cost.

As soon as the flood damage occurred, Kim Jong Un came to a flying base despite the heavy rainstorm by covering the inundated roads and personally guided the operation for rescuing the inhabitants on the spot, regardless of his own danger.

As the severe damages caused by floods and heavy rain occurred one after another, he immediately convened the 22nd emergency enlarged meeting of the Political Bureau of the Eighth Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea to take urgent measures for the rehabilitation and made important decisions for the people’s security and well-being.

The decision "On rapidly repairing the flood damage in North Phyongan and Jagang provinces" was adopted at the meeting of the Political Bureau of the Party Central Committee held on the inundated paddy field in the flood-hit area, flying the red Party flag bearing the destiny of the people.

Every item of the decision which was consistent with ardent love for the people, including the issue of urgently supplying the reserve materials for emergency disaster relief to quickly stabilize the living of the inhabitants in the flood-hit areas, the issue of making a scientific calculation of the scale of rehabilitation projects, manpower and budget and the issue of dispatching construction workforce as soon as possible and fully supplying and transporting materials, showed again the sacred mission and popular character of the WPK.

Kim Jong Un came to the flood-hit areas of Uiju County, North Phyongan Province on August 8 and 9 by train with the aid materials provided by the Party Central Committee, though he was busy with his revolutionary leadership, and took important measures for stabilizing the living of the flood victims and restoring from disaster.

The construction of dwelling houses was pushed ahead with to provide the inhabitants in the afflicted areas with a cradle of happiness as early as possible.

The builders of the regiments of Party members across the country, the branch of the Workers’ Party of Korea and the core force of the revolution, took the lead in the construction in the spirit of stubborn offensive, regarding it as the inherent duty in life and struggle to devote themselves to defending the people’s security and realizing their ideals.

Young people who came to the construction site of dwelling houses in the flood-hit areas of North Phyongan Province, bearing deep trust that they are the vanguard in socialist construction and detachments specially dispatched by the Party, covered the areas of rehabilitation with their utmost exertion and courage and youthful efforts.
