On December 12, 2012, the DPRK successfully sent artificial satellite Kwangmyongsong 3-2 into orbit, a landmark event that demonstrated the country’s status as an application satellite nation.
The DPRK has long made strenuous efforts to bolster up independence and Juche character of its space industry, while carrying out phased targets of its space programme and building up the material and technological foundations of the industry.
As a result, Kwangmyongsong 3-2, a sci-tech orbiter, was successfully launched. All procedures ranging from design to manufacture, assembly, launch and post-launch observation were independently implemented.
It was exceptionally cold when the satellite was launched. Prior to the launch, it heavily snowed, coupled with storm that started three days ago.
By order of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un , however, the carrier rocket Unha 3 with Kwangmyongsong 3-2 atop blasted off Sohae Satellite Launching Ground.
It was a defining moment that fully demonstrated his iron faith and will to give fuller play to the nation’s prestige and might, and the Korean people’s unshakeable determination to follow his leadership faithfully.
It also convinced the people that when they brave through all sorts of challenges and ordeals in high spirits, all victory and glory are in store for them.
The DPRK continues to push ahead with its space development in order to boost the national economy and improve the people’s living standards.
