The Ranam Coal-mining Machine Factory is proceeding apace with the production of custom-built equipment by pushing ahead with readjustment and reinforcement.
Last July, the factory decided to replace the existing electric furnace with a new one because it found it hard to produce various steel and other castings needed for the production of parts.
Technicians of the factory worked out a design through computer simulations to build a furnace automatically controlled by PLC. And skilled workers at different workshops set about processing as soon as drawings were completed.
In particular, the sheet metal processing workshop finished the production of large products in several days, a workload which would otherwise take it more than ten days, and the steel casting workshop carried out a task of making products weighing tens of tons ahead of schedule and halved the time of the total assembly of a modern electric furnace.
The factory also established an alloy steel production line that turns out high-carbon steel, tool steel, die steel, heat-resistant steel and acid-resistant steel essential for the production of custom-built equipment.
In addition, it set up a large drying furnace with a digital temperature display capable of drying and annealing, applied a PLC control system to processing equipment, and overhauled and updated dozens of facilities.
As a result, the factory has raised the production of custom-built equipment 1.4 times and machine parts 2.8 times more than planned while lowering the consumption of materials per unit, thus opening up bright prospects for steadily increasing the production.
