In recent years, uniforms, bags and shoes for students produced in South Phyongan Province have been highly appreciated at the national quality shows.
Employees from the Phyongsong School Uniform Factory and the Phyongsong Bag Factory took the first place in the machinist event of the competition of skilled workers in various economic sectors and occupations held last year.
This is a positive outcome of the efforts made by the Phyongsong School Uniform Factory, Phyongsong Bag Factory and Phyongsong Schoolchildren’s Footwear Factory to improve quality true to the Workers’ Party of Korea’s idea of attaching importance to the younger generation.
The factories are directing primary efforts to strengthening their technical forces and establishing a well-regulated quality control system.
They have raised the average skill levels of their employees by far as compared with those in their incipiency by steadily pushing ahead with the work to enhance their technical and practical qualifications. They have also strengthened the force of process inspectors with high-level skilled workers and introduced suitable jigs to modern processing equipment.
The Phyongsong Schoolchildren’s Footwear Factory, inaugurated last year, made sure that its employees were engaged in production only after receiving technical training at various shoe-making units in Pyongyang Municipality and South Phyongan and Kangwon provinces.
As a result, many women employees have joined the ranks of high-level skilled workers in a short span of time.
Last year, the Phyongsong Bag Factory introduced more than 70 jigs of 30-odd kinds and over 10 rational processing methods, which has resulted in fulfilling this year’s bag production plan for freshers one month ahead of schedule while ensuring quality.
Employees of the Phyongsong School Uniform Factory devote themselves to the production of school uniforms according to sex, types of school and sizes, as mothers would do.
Progress in quality control stimulates the employees’ enthusiasm for production, which guarantees the sustainable development of the factories.
