Recently, the U.S. included 29 Chinese businesses on the so-called “Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act” entity list and imposed sanctions on them. The press spokesperson of the Chinese Ministry of Commerce denounced this as a typical case of groundless economic blackmail which pursues hegemony and oppression under the pretext of human rights.
The spokesperson warned that imposing such sanctions on Chinese businesses without any evidence is a gross violation of the basic human rights of the Xinjiang people, an infringement on the legitimate rights and interests of the given businesses, and an act of undermining the stability of the global supply chain.
The spokesperson strongly called for the U.S. to put an immediate end to its political plot to tarnish the image of China and stop applying groundless pressure on Chinese businesses.
