In support of President Putin’s statement on the situation of the special military operations against Ukraine, figures from various circles of Russia stressed that Russia is prepared for any kind of development in the situation to safeguard its interests and safety.

The Press Secretary for the Russian President strongly condemned the reckless tension-aggravating moves of the U.S. administration. Western countries are directly engaged in the use of missiles targeting the Russian territory, he said and underlined that the main point of what President Putin said is that rash decisions and moves of those Western countries will certainly invite strong backlash from the Russian side.

The Vice Foreign Minister of Russia mentioned that President Putin’s statement sends a signal to the West that the new challenges will be countered by military response of Russia. He mentioned that this is aimed at demonstrating Russia’s determination to deal with the provocation of the Western forces which supports the Kiev authorities and making them realize the seriousness of the situation and the Russia’s capabilities of military response against new challenges.

Russia will safeguard its fundamental security interests by mobilizing all possible means, he said.

Chairwoman of the Federation Council, in a plenary meeting, mentioned that Russia possesses all means for substantial and inevitable response including the latest weapons and the West must have “comprehended” the statement of the Russian President on the launch of Oreshnik missile. She called for Russia to stand ready for the reckless moves of the West.

Chairman of the National Defence Committee of State Duma of Russia, Vice-President of the Diplomatic Academy under the Russian foreign ministry commented on the statement of their President that the Western countries must tremble with fear and the moves of the West may lead to a global nuclear conflict as their President clarified.
