Eternal Lifeline

In April, 2019 there took place the Fourth Plenary Meeting of the Seventh Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea in the presence of the respected General Secretary Kim Jong Un.

The plenary meeting implanted once again into our people’s minds the great revolutionary spirit of self-reliance

The respected General Secretary in his historic concluding speech at the plenary meeting stressed that the basic spirit of the Fourth Plenary Meeting of the Seventh Party Central Committee is that the entire party, the whole country and all the people should courageously wage an all-out death-defying campaign to bring about a great surge in socialist construction by taking self-reliance as a treasured sword of prosperity today when the building of an economic power is raised as the main political task and said:

When consolidating the country’s economic potentials more firmly on the principle of self-reliance, we can defend the dignity of the state and people and advance toward the target we set more quickly.

History has witnessed many countries whose sovereignty and dignity were left at the mercy of outside forces and which were subject to dependent economy due to their failure to adhere to the principle of self-reliance.

Therefore he stressed that self-reliance and self-supporting national economy are the bedrock of the existence of our own style socialism, the motive power of its advance and development and the eternal lifeline essential to the destiny of our revolution.

The meaningful instructions he made that day teach us the noble iron truth that when giving the full play to the revolutionary spirit of self-reliance we can overcome all kinds of hardships and difficulties and emerge victorious all the time.

Invincible Spirit

One September day in 2015 the respected General Secretary inspected a factory after receiving the report that officials, workers and technicians of the factory had developed an up-to-date measuring instrument on their own by displaying the revolutionary spirit of self-reliance.

Saying that he was so pleased to receive a report about world-class ultra-modern measuring instruments developed by the factory and came to meet the developers, he highly appreciated their feats.

That day he, saying that the factory had solved one of the issues the Party Central Committee attached the most importance to and provided the excellent gift to the 70th founding anniversary of the Workers’ Party of Korea, stressed that the proud successes achieved in recent days across the country are powerful display of the invincible spirit of our motherland.

Receiving the instructions of the respected General Secretary, the officials deeply thought about the invincible spirit of our country; it was just the product of the revolutionary spirit of self-reliance and a staunch fighting spirit of rising up no matter how often one may fall and fighting it out.

That day the officials made a firm pledge to keep deep in minds the great trust and expectation of the respected General Secretary and bring about an innovation in production by dint of the revolutionary spirit of self-reliance.
